It treats remembering and forgetting, particularly around Martial Law, as active and contested processes rather than passive recall. It also foregrounds women's history as a lens for expanding whose experiences count as historical knowledge, and highlights literature as a medium through which students can engage the past both creatively and critically. Together, these perspectives show how history-based GE courses can shape students who read the past critically and connect it meaningfully to the present.
